Music

by Heather Ragnars

Bench Warmer is Heather Ragnars’ first EP and is best described as singer-songwriter folk or neosoul. She drew inspiration from Tarantino soundtracks and female fronted acts such as Portishead, The Supremes, Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey.

Heather describes her songs as conversations she may never actually have. Bench Warmer paints a picture of two women reluctantly discussing their love for the same man. There is a recurring theme of ambivalence throughout the EP, as she addresses heartbreak, cheating and competition with compassion and understanding. The EP was produced independently in Montreal by Heather Ragnars and Dan Moscovitch, who also recorded and mixed it.
